On February 18, 1946, Andrea Lynne Montgomery Mency was born in Los Angeles, California to the union of Andrew and Blanchard Montgomery Sr. She was the youngest of five girls and two brothers until her younger brother Charles Kirk was born. Her parents marriage would dissolve, and in August of 1954, her mother would marry Mr. Andrew Lee, to whom she lovingly and always called "Daddy". To that union she gained a half brother and two younger brothers were born.

Andrea grew up in Monrovia, California and it was there where she accepted Christ at a young age at Second Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. George Godfrey Bailey. Andrea was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church. She served as a choir member in the Voices of Deliverance church choir, and she also opened her home for weekly Bible Study for church members because she loved having fellowship in her home and studying the word of God

Andrea wanted to be a Missionary. She told everyone that was her true calling from God. She also loved music and she truly loved to sing, as she was a member of both Concert Choir II and Glee Club while in High School. She received her early education in Monrovia public schools and graduated from Monrovia High School. She would later enroll into Pasadena City College to study Cosmetology.

In 1965 Andrea Montgomery would formally meet Willie G. Mency of Monrovia, CA. and the two would begin to date. They would marry in 1967, and to that union a son and two daughters would be born. God & family meant everything to Andrea and she made sure she taught that to her children at an early age.

Andrea (who family and friends would affectionately call "Andy" or "Aunt Andy") started to work for World Vision International as a Data Entry Analyst. She would also later work as an Underwriting Associate for Combined Underwriters Insurance. It was only fitting that wanting to be a Missionary, she would work for World Vision. She absolutely loved her time there, the people, and their mission.

Her love for music and song was always on display. Like her mother before, she would always be heard singing & praising. She loved both gospel and popular artist such as The Hawkins Family, Andre Crouch, Rev. James Cleveland and the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. She also loved her some Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle, and the O'Jays. Andrea also loved her some good ole Country Music with Willie Nelson being one of her favorites.

Andrea traveled to places such as Bermuda, Lake Tahoe, The Bay Area, and other destinations, but it was places like Laughlin, Las Vegas and Shreveport that she really enjoyed because she loved the casinos and playing the slot machines. She also had a fondness and deep admiration for movies and trivia. She was an avid watcher and fan of the TV Game Show "Jeopardy" and would always tune in and play along. She knew her trivia and would love the challenge.

Whenever you saw Andrea you saw her children, so it was without question when she and Willie relocated from California to Texas in 1992, her children would follow. Her two daughters Camille and Rochelle followed in 1993 while her son Emille remained in California. Even with the distance in miles apart they all remained close. The love and closeness she had with her children and they have for each other is absolutely unmatched. She would always call them her three blessings.

On July 23, 2021, Andrea Lynne Montgomery Mency was called to rest by the Lord "In Perfect Peace". She was preceded in death by her mother, both fathers, three sisters and five brothers. She leaves to cherish in her memory, her husband of 54 years Willie G. Mency, one son, Emille Mency (Kimberly), two daughters, Camille Mency-Brown (Tyrone Sr.), Rochelle Mency-McMorris (Valrick), two Granddaughters, Cheyenne McNeil (Kwame), Kendall Mency, three Grandsons, Cameron Elliott, Bishop Mency, Tyrone Brown Jr., two Great Grandchildren, Kali- Camille and Karter McNeil, and a host of family & friends.
