Arnesia Wilson

Arnesia Stinson Wilson was the tenth of eleven children born to the late Olige Hayes

Stinson and Ola Mae Pittman Stinson in the Pleasant Hill Community of Longview, Texas.

She attended Pleasant Hill Community Elementary and High School in Longview, where she

received her early education.

Arnesia accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Pleasant Hill

C.M.E. Church in Longview, Texas.

Committed to the pursuit of education and lifelong learning, Arnesia earned a Bachelor of

Science degree in Education from Texas College in Tyler, Texas, and a Master of Education

degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

While pursuing her education, Arnesia met the love of her life, Willie Lee Wilson, Sr. Their

union was blessed with two children, Chiquita Lynnette Wilson-Moore and Willie Lee

Wilson II.

Arnesia and her family later united with Miles Chapel C.M.E. Church, where she continued

to grow in her faith and deepen her knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Education was more than a profession for Arnesia—it was her passion. She devoted many

years to teaching English and Science in several school districts, including Chapel Hill ISD,

Tyler ISD, and Dallas ISD. She also served as an instructor with the Upward Bound

Program at Texas College, teaching during weekend and summer enrichment programs and

inspiring countless students to pursue higher education.

Arnesia was a proud and dedicated member of the Tyler Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma

Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she exemplified the organization's ideals of

scholarship, sisterhood, service, and social action.

Arnesia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Olige Hayes Stinson and Ola Mae

Pittman Stinson; her devoted husband, Willie Lee Wilson, Sr.; and her siblings, Maureen

Cole, John Alton Stinson, Ernest Stinson, Willie Lee Stinson, Douglas Charles

Stinson, Brady Alvin Stinson, Sr., Cleophus Stinson, Bobby Joe Stinson, Ola Mae

Stinson Allen, and Dorothy Jean Stinson Curtis.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, Chiquita Lynnette

Wilson-Moore; her devoted son, Willie Lee Wilson II; her grandsons, Romelle Wilson and

Derrian Moore; her granddaughter, De'Anira Moore; and a host of cherished nieces,

nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever

enriched by her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit.

Arnesia's legacy of faith, education, service, and unconditional love will continue to live on

through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
