Aubrey Lezell Square, Sr was born August 5, 1939 as the eldest child of four to Austin Square, Jr. and Georgia Johnson Square in Tyler, Texas. He became a member of El Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. Lezell graduated from Arp High School. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 30 plus years of service.
Lezell married Lurene Malone on October 4, 1964 and remained married for 61 years until our Heavenly Father called him Home on December 27, 2025. From this union three children were born: Winifred Elaine Square, Adolphus Square and Aubrey Lezell Square, Jr. Lezell will last forever in the memories of his wife, Lurene, children: I daughter: Winifred Elaine Square of Tyler, Texas & 3 sons: Adolphus Square of Houston, Texas; Aubrey Lezell Square, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Vanek Love of Dallas, Texas and grandchildren: Tiffany Nicole Square of Tyler, Texas; Sarah Square of Seattle, Washington; Evan Square of San Diego, California.
He will truly be missed by his brother: John Wesley Square and 2 sisters: Mamie Joyce Square Phillips and Sclestine Square Foster all of Tyler, Texas and several relatives e friends.
Lezell was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Derek Damone Mitchem.
He loved visiting and spending time with his family. He attended family gatherings and exchanged birthday cards with his youngest sister each year. Lezell was a sharp dresser; he knew how to wear a suit. He was a great provider, hard-worker and stood on business.
He found enjoyment and relaxation in fishing, sports, working in the yard and gardening. Throwing meat on the grill for a barbecue was something he truly enjoyed doing. Anyone that knew him, knew how much he treasured his truck and always kept it clean.
Lezell was a Man of GOD who loved attending church and serving the LORD as a devoted member of the Deacon Board. He loved fellowshipping with family and church members. He often shared examples of GOD's word along with life examples.
On December 27, 2025 at 10:28am, GOD decided that Lezell's presence was needed as an intricate part of HIS Heavenly Deacon Staff. GOD knew that he would follow HIS Word and lead by example. He said what he meant and meant what he said.
