IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara
Freeman
June 21, 1937 – May 31, 2023
Barbara Freeman was born June 21, 1937, in Tyler, Texas, to the late Oscar T. Goss Sr. and Olga Mannings Goss. She graduated from Emmett J. Scott High School and attended Texas College. As a dedicated member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, she always put God first in her life. Barbara retired from Tyler Pipe Industries. She shared a close bond with her siblings and is survived by a sister, Patricia Goss White, and is preceded in death by her brothers, Oscar T. Goss, Jr., and James Rex Goss.
As a result of her giving spirit and welcoming personality, she was loved by many. Barbara loved spending time with her family, attending mass, and traveling. She enjoyed sharing a good laugh with friends. She was always the loudest voice yelling for her grandkids on the sidelines at their football and soccer games. Her enduring smile forced everyone to smile with her. Her influence and caring nature will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Barbara received her wings on Tuesday, May 31, 2023. She is preceded in death by her son Leon Freeman, daughter Veverly Freeman, and two grandchildren Brandon Madlock and Shavicia Pettigrew.
Survivors include her daughters Phillis (Charlton Chris Columbus), Marie (Steve Hicks), and Felicia Freeman, and one son Timothy Freeman; grandchildren: Keith (Shawn Williams), Kenneth (Shasta Williams), Shaquelle Freeman, LaMark (Abbey Pettigrew), Spicey Barrett, Sade Sanders, TaLyshia Christopher, Steven Hicks, ShaVonte Jones, Chas Carter, Brook Freeman, Brielle Freeman, and Cedric Freeman; great-grandchildren: Tae'Von, Cecia, Khalaya, Isaac, Kaniesha, N'Kendrya, Kiara, Kamryn, Hayvin, Cordae, Christian, Khaylee, Drew, Seri, TaNiya, Kayson, Kayston, Ryan, Paris, Trae, and Gia; great-great grandchildren: Caiden and Canaan; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
