Mrs. Barbara Jackson was born October 12, 1949 to the late Alice Swanson Humber and Oleas Humber. She joined Spring Creek Baptist Church at an early age, song in the choir, attended Sunday School, and worked as the church secretary.
Barbara attended public schools and was one of the first African American students to attend John Tyler High School. She graduated from Tyler Junior College with an Associate Degree in Business. Barbara was employed at Carrier Air Conditioner for 20 years as an Engineer, where she met Narvell. Upon marriage, she joined New Hope Baptist Church, Bullard, TX where she served in many capacities.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Husband Narvell Jackson, one daughter Kimeca Jackson, three step-sons, LaCurtis Mayes (Lisa), Jerald "Keith" Jackson(Marla), Miccal "Todd" Jackson(Tresa): siblings Charles Humber, Gloria Jones(Dewayne) and Sandra Dewberry; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
