Bobby Jackson was born on May 1, 1935, to Willie and Pearlee (Young) Jackson in Tyler, Texas. He
was proceeded in death by his grandparents, parents, his sister Gloria J. Johnson and his wife Loyce
J. Jackson.

Bobby was a 1954 graduate of Emmet J. Scott High School. Following graduation, he joined the
United States Army where he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. In 1956 he returned
to Tyler and begin studying at Texas College where he was a member of numerous organizations,
including Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He graduated in 1960, cum laude, with a bachelor's degree in
education.

On May 3, 1958, Bobby married his childhood friend, Loyce J. Johnson, forming a 63 year union until
her passing in 2021. Bobby moved his family to Houston, Texas where he was self-employed as an
insurance agent. He continued his educational journey at Prairie View A&M University, earning a
master's degree in education, as well as a certification in guidance counseling from Texas Southern
University. After moving to Texas City, Texas he began his career as an educator with LaMarque ISD
for 13 years. He expanded his love for education to Galveston ISD where he continued to enhance
and guide young minds. After returning to Tyler with his family, he began a 14-year career with the
Texas Department of Corrections as a vocational counselor.

Brother Bobby accepted Christ at a very early age, being raised in St. Mary Baptist Church. He later
joined his wife at Houston Temple Church of God in Christ where he served in the capacity of
Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Finance Department. While the decline of his wife's
health limited his attendance in church, he continued to conduct in-home Sunday School lessons
teaching God's word to his family and visitors.
On May 26, 2025, being an obedient servant, Bobby answered the orders of God to begin his ascent
into heaven. His words of wisdom, encouragement, support and love, will forever live and guide
those he leave to celebrate his legacy, three sons: Aja Fasah; Allesandro R. Jackson (Diannia); Marty
L. Smith (Rena); two daughters: Montrice L. Jackson; V. Lorraine Reynolds; grandchildren: Alia
Jackson (Bear); Safia Jackson; Lamont Jackson; Joffrey Reynolds; many great-grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.
