Charles Ray Martin was born on February 21, 1949 to late Joe Rich and Frankie Martin. He was a graduate of Stanton High School. He was employed by Tyler Pipe Industries for several years.

On November 16, 2021, Charles departed this life. Preceding him in death were his parents, son; Charles D. Martin, Jr., brothers; Richard, Benny, and John Martin, sisters; Merelene Martin, Mary P. Blaylock, and Jessie F. Martin Black.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughter; Dar'Mesha N. Martin, grandson; Joshua Johnson, brothers; Curtis Martin (Eva), Jerry Martin (Ruby), sisters; Jerelene Martin, and Erie Ross (Brian), and a host of other family and friends.
