Mr. Cornelius "Belly" Butler was born July 6, 1962, to the parents of Sam "Big S" Butler Sr, and Elizabeth "Liz"Butler. He was the eighth child out of nine children.
He attended Washington Elementary School in Palestine, Texas. Later his parents moved to Chandler, Texas. Heattended Brownsboro Jr High and graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1981. Cornelius was employed by Brownsboro Independent School District in the transportation department. He was the bus driver and transportation trainer for others to receive their CDL license. He was a faithful employee for the district for 23 years and enjoyed working with his co-workers.
On April 11, 1981, Cornelius married Alesia Carol Thomas, and they were blessed with five lovely daughters and seven grandchildren.
He attended the Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Elder J.D. "Poppa" Hamilton. He was very active in the ministry. He became a carpenter and a bus driver for the saints who lived locally and out of state.
He loved to cook and dance. He often said cooking relaxed him. Above all things he loved to make people laugh and be happy. He was the family comedian.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alesia Carol Butler, father, Sam Butler Sr., mother, Elizabeth Butler, two sisters, Lorene Lyles, and Sheila Butler. Aunts, Rose Morrow, Corine Asberry, Louise Daniels, Mattie Henderson, and Betty Eiglebiger. Three uncles, Charlie Davis, Johnny Davis, and Don Davis Sr.
He leaves to mourn his five lovely daughters, Carletta Thomas, Marian Mitchell, Alesia Johnson, ElizabethButler, and Janice Butler. Six siblings, Sam Butler Sr. (Jackie), Freddie L. Butler (Jeanette), Alvin Butler, Ron Lewis Butler, Alice Butler, and Jean Butler. His precious in-laws, Virginia Ewing, Vivian Lockhart, Jannis Thomas, Mary Gibson, Manuel Thomas, Jr, Barbara Thomas, and Harold Thomas. God mothers, Mother Hester Crawford, and Edna Sullivan. Seven adorable grandchildren, MaKayla, Jalisa, Malik, Ashley, Avery, Aleah, and Ari. A special aunt, Mae Frances Davis, Godson, Willie Miller. Special Caretakers, Julia Barnett, Debra Jones, Christine Robinson, and his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Jeanette Butler, Alvin Butler, and Alice Butler. A host of nieces and nephews.
