Dean Edward Morgan, born to the late Jimmie and Shirley Morgan in Kaufman, TX. At the age of three (3) Dean went to live with his adoptive parents,Tommie and Pauline Williams.
He attended Griffin Elementary, Dogan Jr. High, and Emmett Scott High School. After High school, Dean attended Prairie View A & M University where he then pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Dean met and married D'Juanna Goss and to this union raised five (5) children and remained married for thirty-six (36) years. While his children were in school, he served as the PTA Vice President and was a member of the Mentoring Men's Alliance.
Dean worked for Federal Express Ground for 13 years where he retired. Following retirement, he also coached little league football, basketball, baseball. He continued in the sports arena by becoming a referee for TASO in the East Texas community. He was affectionately known as Coach, Pops and a host of other endearments.
Dean became a member of Liberty Baptist Church at a young age and later joined St. Louis Baptist church where he served on the usher board and various other capacities.
Dean was proceeded in death by his grandson Keionte Sharp, brothers Thurman Morgan and Kirk Smith.
Dean is survived by his wife D'Juanna Goss Morgan, sons Dean Morgan II
(Sharhonda), D'Welvin Morgan, De'Trich Morgan (Marquinta), and daughters DeAndreala
Morgan, and D'Maryean Morgan. 9 grandkids Nykee Sharp, Ryan Morgan, CamBraylon,
CaSabreyan, and Caydence Mills, Markavien, Nehemiah, Briley, and De'Coryian Morgan and 2 great grandchildren Kavaria and Jayden Sharp. One sister Deborah Hampton (Robert) and one niece Nitesha Hampton and two great nephews. One brother Tommie L. Smith Jr.
