Donald Keith Tave was born to the late Charles Howard Tave, Sr. and Lodee Neal Tave on January 9, 1958 in Tyler, Texas.

A Time For Reverence to God

Donald accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. Donald was also an associate member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Texas.

A Time To Learn

Donald graduated from Chapel Hill High School in Tyler, Texas in 1976.

A Time To Work

Donald worked at Lone Star Steel (U.S. Steel) for over 38 years as an Inspector until his retirement in 2018. Donald was a dedicated and hard worker with an  easy-going and positive attitude, which led Donald to develop  lifelong friendships and bonds with many of his fellow Steelworkers.

A Time For Love, Devotion & Family

Donald married the love of his life, Lillie Tave, on April 6, 1984. He was a devoted and humble patriarch, always placing the needs of his family ahead of his own. Donald was a man of few words, but his unconditional love for family, his warm smile, and peaceful spirit spoke volumes. He enjoyed watching his westerns and track and field—and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Howard Tave, Sr. and Lodee Neal Tave; daughter, Tywanna Oliver; and brother, Charles Howard Tave, Jr.

Donald leaves to cherish his memory: One daughter, SanTanna Tave (Fredrick), Tyler, Texas. Three sons: Anderson (Desiree) Oliver, Wichita, Kansas; Marwin (Carolyn) Oliver, Atlanta, Texas; and Demarcus (Kayla), Fayetteville, Arkansas. One sister, Wilma Wickware, of Tyler, Texas. Two brothers: Guindell Tave, Tyler, Texas & Stevie Tave, Tyler, Texas. 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Time For Homegoing

Donald peacefully departed this life on March 8, 2024 in the comfort of his home.
