Mrs. Doris Matlock Sanders was born November 4, 1946 to Fred Matlock Sr. and Naomi Mackey Matlock in Whitehouse, TX, the eldest of 13 children. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1965.

She united in holy matrimony to Henry L. Sanders on January 9, 1971. To their union 11 children were born.

Doris loved family, testing her knowledge with the Bible, and puzzles.

She attended Mt. Elem Baptist Church as a child and later became a Jehovah Witness. She worked as a caregiver, housekeeper, and cook at various nursing homes, hospitals, and the GE Plant (Trane). Later she stopped working to become a full time devoted mother and wife.

Preceded in death: husband Henry L. Sanders, her parents Fred and Naomi Matlock, and one brother Billy Matlock.

She is survived by her children: June (Marlin) Ridleaux of Houston, TX , Helen (Marcus) Williamson of Tyler, TX , James Sanders of Tyler, TX, Palmer Sanders of Tyler, TX, Christopher (Delanna) Sanders of Desoto, TX ,Derrick Sanders of Plano, TX, Stephanie (John) Mosley of Nacogdoches, TX, Eliah Sanders of Whitehouse, TX , Jennifer Sanders of Tyler, TX , Michael Sanders of Tyler, TX and Karen Sanders of Whitehouse, TX.

She is also survived by ten siblings: Dr. Robert (Deborah) Matlock, Rev. Howard Matlock, Rev. Oscar (Bernice) Matlock , Roger ( Matilda) Matlock, Fred (Faye) Matlock Jr., Charles (Gloria) Matlock, Francis (Cynthia) Matlock , Nathaniel (Yolanda) Matlock, Penny Matlock, Mary (Jim) Matlock; Sister-in-Laws Doris Caldwell and Ella Ree Johnson.
