IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ermer Jean
Clark
June 7, 1947 – September 2, 2021
Ermer Jean Jiles was born June 7, 1947 in Tyler, Texas to the union of Reverend J.C. Jiles, longstanding Assistant Pastor of Smith Temple Church of God in Christ and Mother Mary Ella Swindell. She was the fourth of five children to this union.
She attended Tyler Public Schools and graduated high school from Emmitt J. Scott class of 1969. She went on to receive a Business Certificate from Tyler Commercial College and later an Associates of Business Degree at Tyler Junior College.
In 1970 she met and later married Johnny Clark on June 15, 1972. Within this union they brought up two sons; Clifton "Beaux" Swindell and Curtis Clark.
"Cookie" was very influential in her sons' lives oftentimes working two jobs, taking them to church to ensure a spiritual foundation, getting them involved in sports, boy scouts, and other activities. She always gave her all.
She had a perfect mix of Swindell; diligent, stern, and concerned humbleness mixed with Jiles; hardworking, meekness.
She was 100% dedicated to the well-being of her mother and father up until their passing. She was involved in the lives of all her siblings, nephews and nieces with genuine concern for all.
In her spare time Cookie enjoyed watching Lifetime, crafting and shopping with Jo Karen. In recent years, she enjoyed cooking breakfast on Sunday Mornings and blowing bubbles with Lil' Beaux before church.
Ermer is preceded in death by her parents; J.C. and Mary Ella Jiles, and nephew; George Frazier.
She leaves to celebrate her life, mourn her passing, and cherish her memories: Ex Husband & Lifetime friend; Johnny Clark, Tyler, Texas, Two sons; Clifton Swindell (Mashala) of Dallas,Texas, and Curtis Clark, of Tyler, Texas.; two brothers, Marvin Jiles (Rose) of Tyler, Texas, and Billy Swindell(Sheryn) of Dallas,Texas; two sisters; Ruby Jiles-Frazier of Tyler, Texas and Gladys Hill(Richard) of Dallas, Texas; sister friend; Jo Karen Bailey; three grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
