Ernest Lee Goodman, 81, of Tyler, TX, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Born on February 21, 1944, in Cape Charles, VA, Lee— as he was affectionately known—was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend. A former Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1970, achieving the rank of Corporal and receiving military honors such as the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, among others. Lee lived and worked for many years in New Jersey before moving to Texas. His diverse career included roles as a cook, taxi driver, auto body and fender repairman, crossing guard, and security guard. He loved to cook, go fishing, watch movies, enjoy westerns on TV, spend time with friends and family, and visit fellow military comrades.

Lee leaves behind a legacy of love, including his devoted family and many dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Burial with military honors will be held privately at a later date.
