Florine Stoglin Butler was born on May 22, 1951, to the late Katherine Ray Stoglin and Theodore Broughton. She received her formal education in the Troup Public School system and proudly graduated in 1969.
On January 19, 1970, she was united in marriage to Lessie Wagoner Jr. From this union were born two sons, Derrick Tyrone and Roderick Todd. Florine was a devoted and loving mother who took great pride in her sons and through them, she was further blessed with twelve grandchildren Roderick Deshun, A'ja, Dominique, Tieler, Marissa, Devon, Tristen. Olivia, Matthew, Morgan and Logan. Five great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply and considered her most precious treasures Alaina, Kingston, Tieler Jr., A'mara and Ah' melody.
Florine devoted many years of faithful service to working with adults with special needs at the Andrews Center and Breaking Ridge in Tyler, Texas. Her career was marked by compassion, patience, and a strong work ethic. She viewed those she served not merely as clients, but as extended family, and she carried out her work with genuine love and dedication.
In 1989, Florine married Mr. Alvie Lee Butler, who preceded her in death.
Through this marriage, she embraced a blended family that was very significant to her heart, Anitra (Kevin) Cooper, Alvera Butler, Deitra Butler.
She lovingly accepted and nurtured these family relationships, valuing them as an important part of her Life and legacy. She was the third of five siblings.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Linzell Johnson (Hickey) and Florell Morrison (Flo).
Florine leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy of love her sons, Derrick and Todd Wagoner; her grand and great-grandchildren; her sister Wendy Copeland and brother Frank Stoglin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Florine will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love for family, her compassionate spirit, her dedication to serving others, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
