Henry Douglas Cain (H.D.) was born December 7, 1942, in Palestine, Texas to G.D. and Lue Vera (Lewis) Cain. He attended Henry High School in Elkhart, Texas. He graduated in the class of 1961. At an early age he united with the Pine Hill Baptist Church of Palestine, Texas. After moving to Tyler, Texas, he united with Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He faithfully served as a Deacon, trustee, and former Deacon Chairman of the deacon ministry. He was also the President of brotherhood, male chorus, and the Men's Sunday school class. He financially supported the church with his tithes and offerings. He served in all of these capacities' until his death.
On December 7 1968, he married the love of his life, ArieJones to this union 3 children were born. He was employed by Tyler Mattress Factory. He retired from Gulf/Chevron Texaco in 2004 after 32 years of service.
H.D. was preceded in death by his parents, G.D. and Lue Vera Cain, one sister Lue Parrish, three brothers, Leroy, Geddie, and Robert Cain, and a loving Mother-in-Law Eleece Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Arie Jones Cain of Tyler, Texas, seven sons Darren Choice (Doris); Henry Fields, Dallas,Texas; Michael (Terassa) Thompson, Douglasville, Georgia; Henry Cain Jr., Garland, Texas; Kelvin Horace, Houston, Texas; James (Simone) Cain, Cedar Hill, Texas; Corey (Angela) Cain, Desoto, Texas; three daughters Felicia(Larry) Reece, Tyler,Texas; Bonnie Lampkin, Euless, Texas; Henrietta(Terry) Spencer, Cedar Hill, Texas; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. H.D. also leaves a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
