IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Imogene
Conley
December 30, 1932 – August 1, 2022
Imogene (Jean) Conley was born December 30, 1932, to Thomas Potts and Claudie Mae Harvey in Grapeland, TX. She has two younger brothers, James Cal Sr. (deceased), and Curtis Cal Sr.
Jean grew up and attended school in Grapeland, TX. She moved to San Antonio, TX where she pursued a career in cosmetology.
She met and married Raymond Rogers to which four children were born, Ray Charles Rogers (Maxine), Gerald Rogers (Eleanor), Claudia Dews (George), and Debra Vaughn. Later Imogene relocated to Palestine, TX. where she met and married Lloyd Otha Conley Sr. Through this union eight children were born: Cheryl Garmon (Bobby), Reginald Conley (Julie), Cynthia Williams (Reginald), Henry Conley (deceased), Lloyd Conley Jr. (Dannette), Stephen Conley (Carolyn), Michael Conley (Gail), Brian Conley (deceased) (Wendy). Jean and Lloyd Otha moved to Tyler, TX where they established their home, until her passing. During her life in Tyler, Jean was well known and loved throughout her community. Her home was a staple in the Butler College area to which she was not only an amazing cook and homemaker, but also known as the "Avon Lady" which she continued to do until her passing.
As a mother of twelve, her accomplishments and amazing life's testimonies are too numerous to print, yet she leaves a legacy of integrity, humbleness, and unwavering Faith in God.
Jean was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Tyler, TX., were she served as a faithful member of the choir. Although she became homebound, she faithfully attended virtual church services on Sundays. "Mom" often shared the story of her salvation acceptance and baptism, which she related to a life of God's covering and protection over her life.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Potts, Claudie Cal, late husband Lloyd Conley Sr., and children Henry and Brian Conley.
Left to mourn her departure are her 10 loving children, 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 3 great-greatgrandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
