John Henry Booty, of Overton Texas was born June 21, 1952 in Arp, Texas to Mr.  & Mrs. Charlie Booty.  John was the second of three children.  He accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior at a young age.  He was baptized a nd was a member of the Sinclair Church of Christ.  He attended the Arp Independent School District.

John decided to enlist in the United States Army and severed with honor.  He met and married Sherry Elaine Wofford on September 25, 199 3 .  He and Sherry were married for 29 years.  He enjoyed Church, working on cars, family gatherings and watching westerns.  He also enjoyed checking on his nieces and nephews.

On October 26, 2022, John departed life at the age of 70.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.  He leaves his wife Sherry Elaine Booty, a sister Charlene Minor (Darrell) of Rowlett, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
