In Loving Memory of Lena Mae Patterson

Lena Mae Patterson was born on December 25, 1940, to Masco McKinney Wiley and Bernice Thompson. She spent her early years in the Dallas, Texas area, where she attended school and completed her education. Following her schooling, Lena Mae dedicated her life to service as a caregiver until her retirement, touching the lives of many with her compassion and kindness.

Lena Mae was united in marriage to Leon Norton Sr., who preceded her in death, as well as to Billy Ray Patterson Sr., who also passed before her. She was a loving mother to four children: Gloria Ann Norton, Leon Norton Jr., Billy Ray Patterson Jr., and Evangelina Patterson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Antoinette Norton, Ashley Norton, Adrian Norton, Kiana Cooks, Jamal Carr, JaQuan Carr, J'Quivia Shavers, Anthony Carr, Quinton Norton, LaToya Norton, and Torrence Norton—and a host of great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory always.

Throughout her life, Lena Mae experienced the loss of her parents, her husbands, her beloved eldest daughter, Gloria Ann Norton, and her sister JoeAnn Hildreth. Despite these losses, she remained a pillar of strength for her family.

She leaves to mourn her sons, Leon Norton Jr. (Cynthia) and Billy Ray Patterson Jr.; her daughter, Evangelina Patterson; her sisters, Shirley Spearman, Mary Sifuentes (Juan), and Judy Moore (Alfonzo); as well as a large and loving circle of family and friends who will remember her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.
