Leonard Owens was born on November 9th 1931 in Bullard, Cherokee County Texas to the parentage of Freddie Guy  "Sugar" Owens & Johnnie Albright Owens. Leonard was the first born of six children. He resided his entire life in Bullard.  He departed this life on December 18th, 2025.
His early education was received at Mt. Nevelton School in Bullard.  He later attended Stanton High School and received his GED.

He was employed by Stanton/Whitehouse ISD for 13 years where he served as a custodian and bus driver.  He was later employed at GE/Trane and retired after 26 years.  He was also the caretaker for the Addington Ranch.

Leonard united in Holy Matrimony to Leonia Branham on November 7th 1959.  To this Union, three children were born.

Leonard was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, his siblings LaVerne (infant sister), Melvin, James, Venard and Letha.

He leaves to cherish his memory 3 daughters Anita, Earnestine & Michele.  One brother in law, Roy Branham and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
