A Lovely Queen's Life

Lillian Jackson Christian Prothro was the second daughter of three girls born to the late James Andrew Jackson, Overton, Texas, and Bessie Bernice (Thomas) Jackson, Terrell, Texas on May 27, 1933, in the City of Tyler, Texas.  After graduating from Texas College, Mrs. Bessie landed a teaching job in California, where they relocated.  She professed her eternal salvation in Jesus Christ at an early age and was active in church throughout her life.

Lillian's mom died in California, and she had to be brought back to Terrell, Texas to be raised by an aunt, Eliza Moorehead. Here is where she met and married Randall Darnell Christian. In later years, she married Rev. Dr. James Prothro, Jr., whom she met at Macedonia Baptist Church, where he pastored.  She loved him through death. She adored their prayer ministry together. She was an active member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas until she was challenged with a stroke. For the duration of her rehab from San Antonio, Texas to Tyler, Texas, she enjoyed still communing with her church family. She loved family, fun, therapy room competition with family and her dominos! She would toot her own horn as the best player in Texas!

Mrs. Lillian had a plethora of careers.  She was the CEO of L&D Wellness/CCRP Inc. She became a certified colon therapist through I-ACT just after her daughter entered the field. She had been  the owner of Christian Colon Cleansing Center of San Antonio, Texas for 14 years. Previously, she had been a clerk/typist for the US Army for 34 years. She was in accounts maintenance and an accounting technician. Her  places of employment mirrored her late husband's military career: Ft. Campbell, KY; Anchorage, AK; Heidelbraun, Germany; Manheim, Germany; and San Antonio, TX. She retired from Kelly Air Force Base.

On July 13, 2021, at 5:55 p.m., Lillian, at the age of 88, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rev. James Prothro, Jr., her husband, the children's' father, Randall Christian, Sr., her youngest son Rev. Antonio Christian, Sr. and her three sisters, Evonne Brown, Maritha Bell and Antoine Jackson. She will forever be remembered and loved by her son, Randall Christian Jr. (Lynn), son, Robert Wells, III (Pamela, deceased), daughter, Debra Christian and son, Kendall Christian. Mrs. Lillian has eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren. She also has six nieces and five nephews. There is a huge San Antonio connection of folks that are represented here to include the Huntleigh neighborhood and also a host of dedicated friends and relatives that absolutely loved her.
