Lucy Jane Martin Loftin was born to Joe Rich Martin and Loda Bell Ervin Martin on April 24, 1933 in Whitehouse, Texas.  She attended  Stanton High school  and was a graduate of class of 1953.  She attended Prairie View A&M College where she had the opportunity to run track.

Lucy Jane was a true steward and always put God first in her life.  She joined Whitehouse COGIC at an early age.  She was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, Usher and all around worker where needed.  She never "skimped" out of any her duties or responsibilities, even when she wasn't up to par.  She truly loved her former and present Pastor and wife.

Lucy Jane married Arthur Loftin in 1953.  They were blessed with two daughters, Rose Etta Rush and Sonja Renea Loftin.

She was employed with Sterling Faucet Company, General Electric and Trane Company where she retired after 18 years.  Her co-workers were like family and she loved them dearly.

She was preceded in death in death by her parents, Joe and Loda Martin; brothers Joe Rich Martin, LC "Buster" Martin, Carl "Cap" Martin and John D. Martin.  Sisters Parlee Lee Martin, Sammie Bell Martin, Fostine Able and Tenzyetta Turner. Favorite uncles, Nathaniel "Buddy" Ervin and Hewitt Martin; special nephew Lessie Turner and special niece Tammie Shirley Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Rose Rush (Henry) and Sonja Loftin; three grandchildren, Carlos Loftin (Tahwanna), Aleshiea Loftin (Carnell) and Alfreado Loftin; four great grandchildren, Amiyah Loftin, Azia Loftin, Damaria Liftin and Christina Williams.  Two sisters, Mary Ann Hawkins and Gloria Pettigrew; on brother in law, Allen Brooks (HaLetha) and special daughter Cassandra Christopher Jackson.

"A Little Something About Lucy"

Moma Lucy was an extraordinary lady that words cant express.  She was the most giving and kindest person you could ever meet. If you had the pleasure to meet her, it was an experience that you would never forget.  Whatever she had was yours if you needed it. When you walked through her door, she made you feel at home and you must enjoy a meal.  She made everyone welcome.  Here is a great example of how she was loved…  she had many god children, god grandchildren, the singing and praying nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and special friends:  Ernestine Session, Shirley Bircher, Mary Helen Mackey, Eddie Doll Ray, Eddie Doll Spikes, Marvelese Marshall, Beverly Murray, Sylvia Potier, Mildred willis, Emma Lee Bowie, Betty Lue Mackey, Kenneth and Mary Butler, Billie Berry, Hoppie and Betty Alexander, Cecil Mayfield, Charles Rush, Sr., Mildred Singleton, Ada Ervin, Bobbie Mitchell, Karen Grandberry, Vera Crayton (Dennis), Freda Webster, Trisha Hawkins, William Hackney, III (Paulette), Pastor Marcus Wolf, Johnathan Jackson, William Aldridge, Bobby Pettigrew, "Pookie" Evans and Twanna Strickland
