Miss. Marchella Latrice Prater (Weedie) was born June 6, 1987, to Michael Prater and Kathy Cooper in Tyler, Texas. Marchella was baptized at North Tenneha Church of Christ in Tyler, Texas, at an early age. Marchella attended Peete Elementary in Tyler, Texas, and T.W.Brown Middle School in Oak Cliff, Dallas. She also attended Robert E Lee High School in Tyler, Texas. Marchella made a career as a Medication Aid and worked for
Medical City, Dallas, Texas.
In her spare time, Marchella enjoyed spending time with her children and hanging out with her cousins. She had a joy for music and loved attending "The Battle of the Bands" between Prairie View A&M and Grambling State University. She enjoyed traveling to Chicago and attending the Horse Races in Grand Prairie, Texas. Marchella found great joy in giving what she could to anyone in need. She was a selfless mother, caregiver, partner, and friend.
Marchella was proceeded in death by her grandparents: Blundell and Douglas Prater, and Joe Battles. Aunts and uncles: Brenda Prater Gibson, Sandra Prater, Nancy Loving, and James Prater. Marchella won her battle with cancer early Saturday morning, April 23, 2022, at 4:30 am.
Survivors include: her children: Destiny Prater, Deneja Taylor and Brandon Taylor II. Siblings: Katherine Murphy (Tyler), Yasmin Prater (Tyler),Michael Prater (Dallas), and Edward (Cole) Butler (Dallas). Life partner: Brandon Taylor. (Dallas), mother and father in-law: Alvin and Brenda Taylor(Dallas), brother and sister in-law: Dee and Kayelyn Taylor (Dallas), Chris and Taneal Jordan (Dallas), stepfather: Craig
Sharpe (Tyler). As well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marchella also leaves to mourn her Godparents: Bernard and Evelyn Turner (Dallas), special cousin and caregiver: Forrest Brown (Dallas), special friends: Debra King (Dallas), Denita Ridley
(Dallas), Deneetrica Edwards (Dallas).
