Margi e Loyce Jean Johnson Jackson began life's journey April 15, 1933. Born unto the union of Lectoy T . Johnson Sr. and Adelle M . Delley . Loyce was the second of three children, Lectoy T. Johnson Jr. , the eldest and David D. Johnson, the youngest. Loyce was preceded in death by both parents and both siblings.
On May 3, 1958, Loyce joined a marital union with Bobby J. Jackson. They were joined together for 63 year s in marriage and were blessed with five children.
Loyce was born and raised in Ty l er, Texas where s he attended public school and graduat ed from Emmett J. Scott High School with the class of 19 5 6 . She enrolled and completed the nursing program at College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas .
Loyce was e mployed as a professional nurse with County Memorial; UTMB
Galveston; St. Mary's Hospital Galveston and the University of Texas Health
Center Tyler, serving as a registered nurse and nursing supervisor. She retired
from the UT System in 19 92 .
Sister Loyce accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Houston Temple Church of God in Christ , under the leadership of the late Bishop W. B. Houston. She was a diligent and Spirit-filled servant for Christ . She served as
Choir member and Baccalaureate program coordinator.
September 11, 2021, the comforting sound of God's voice echoing, "job well done thy good and faithful servant , " gave her the peace needed to take her rest.
Her light and laughter will continue to beam as bright as the morning sun rise through those she leaves to celebrate her life: Husband of 63 years, Bobby J ackson,
three son s : Marty L . Smith (Rena); Allesando R . Jackson (Diannia) and Aja Fasah ; two daughters: V . Lorraine Reynolds and Montrice L . Jackson; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
