Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, and Friend

Marjorie Towels Walker, known to most as "Rita" was born to the late Welton Towels and Mae Ella Morgan Towels of Flint. Tx.

Marjorie began her educational journey at Stanton Elementary School and continued through the Stanton Indian program until graduating in 1961. Her educational journey continued as she attended Texas College for two years.

While at Texas College, she met the love of her life which folded into a 58 year marriage. To this union, three sons were born. Marjorie was a loving, joking, and honest wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was available for any of her family and friends when asked. She was a caring spirit who always took into account feelings of others. Although she did not hesitate to tell you how she felt, she mastered the art of telling you how she felt but yet able to be consoling and attentive in the same conversation.

Marjorie began her working career as a cook at several nursing facilities in the Tyler area. She utilized the same craft and worked for the Tyler Independent School District for 23 years before retirement in 1998. She gained the joy of cooking at a young age as she shared her passion for cooking with family and friends at any given time.

"Rita" will be missed tremendously. Her kind heart and joyful personality will be remembered by many and her spirit will be enjoyed by our savior. Her departure leaves behind a loving family of a husband, sisters, sons, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends whom she loved all dearly.
