Mr. Nolan Cooks, Jr. Was born to Lucille Hampton Cooks and Nolan Cooks, Sr. On December 1, 1941 in Winona,Texas.
Nolan Departed this life Friday, August 30,2019 at Hospice of East Texas.
Nolan Attended Dunbar School an Jackson Public Schools, and was a member of the body scouts of America.
At an early age, he United in faith at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a Memeber until his death. He worked at Tyler Pipe for 10 Years, Pittsburg Colones. He also worked as a carpenter with his father Nolan Cooks, Sr. He played baseball on his father's team "Big Oak" as a catcher. Nolan had a passion to purchase and rebuild cars and it end up being a hobby that he was skilled to do. He loved racing cars and motorcycles.
Nolan Cooks, Jr. was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Joe Toliver on May 18, 1962 and to this union three sons where born. Later in life Nolan finally was blessed to gain a daughter and he was blessed to name her Angellisa Cooks.
On August 30, 2019 the final chapter of his book closed. Preceding him in death, his wife Mary Joe Toliver; his beloved parents; three brothers; three sisters; and eleven uncles and a host of aunts.
He leaves a rich legacy in the hearts of his love ones who will forever cherish his memory; his sons, Larry D. Cooks, Norman L. Cooks (Billie) and Darin Cooks (Vickie); daughter Angelisa N. Cooks; a brother, Sammie D. Cooks (Genell); two sisters, Jathell Scott and Delma Martin (Jarvis, Sr.); one sister-in-law, Joyce Toliver; four brothers-in-law, Rev. Billy Toliver, Ricky Johnson, Jimmy Johnson and Willie Toliver; 8 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grand; other relatives and friends.
