Our beloved Ola Mae (Jones) Miller, a devoted mother, loving wife, and talented artist, passed away on January 4,2023. Born in Sacul, Texas, on May 9, 1948, to Reverend Earnest Jones Sr. and Mrs. Nora Price Jones, she was raised in the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas.Throughout her life, Ola Mae was an inspiration to all who knew her. As a student at Fred Douglass High School, she excelled in both basketball and track, showcasing her strength, determination, and love of sports. She then moved to Dallas to attend Bishop College, but eventually returned home to care for her father. It was during this time that she met her husband, the late Jimmie Ray Miller, with whom she shared a lifelong love. Together, they raised two talented and accomplished sons, Tony L. Miller and Toddrick R. Miller.Ola Mae was known for her love of beauty and creativity. This was evident in her passion for flowers, which led her to co-own and operate A Touch of Paradise Flower Shop. After the death of her husband, she focused on being a grandmother, leaving behind two grandchildren, Toni Miller and Tye Miller, and one great-grandson, Tyson Boswell.She will be deeply missed by her family, including her siblings Earnest Jones Jr., Dorothy Jones Davis, Herbert N. Jones (Nell), Helen Jones, Connie Empy (Austin), and Bennie Jones, as well as by her many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Ola Mae was preceded in death by her parents, sister Velma Jones, and brother Carl L. Jones.Ola Mae's memory will live on through the lives of her family and the many people she touched during her time on earth. Her spirit will always be remembered as one of warmth, kindness, and generosity. A true artist, entrepreneur, and supportive mom of two athletes, she leaves behind a legacy of love and care for her children and family. Ola Mae will forever be in our hearts.
