Oleatha Faye Broughton was born December 28, 1938 to the late Jamison and Annie. She was a graduate of Emmett Scott High School. She attended Texas College and a Professional Nursing School.
Mrs. Broughton was a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse, a member of Miles Chapel C.M.E Church, and champion bowler.
Mrs. Broughton United in Holy Matrimony with Cephus Washington (deceased), to this union three sons (Quinton, Cecil, Otis Washington). Later she married Robert Broughton (deceased) and that union brought Vanetta and Daryl Broughton.
She departed this life December 1, 2025.
Survivors include:
Three sons and four daughters-in-law, Quinton and Debra Washington, Cecil and Chloe Washington, Daryl and Debra Broughton, Linda Washington (Otis); one daughter, Vanetta Broughton: Two siblings, Rev. Matthew Madlock (Jesse) and Rev. Linda Madlock-Williams (Rev. Prince Albert Williams); 5 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeding her in death her mother and father Jamison and Annie Madlock; two sisters, Mary E. Edwards and Barbara Anderson (Willie); two brothers, James Edward Madlock (Nancy), Jamison Madlock (Shaunell); one son, Otis Washington; two grandchildren, Dedrick Marsh, Christopher Washington;
