It is with great sadness that the family of Olive Glenda Carter Brown announces her passing on February 28, 2023. Olive Glenda Carter Brown was born to the parents of the late Dewey Carter and Minnie Lee Carter on December 8, 1949 in Benson, Louisiana.

Olive accepted Christ at an early age at Mary Spring Field Baptist Church in Benson, Louisiana. Later she joined Union Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated high school in 1967 from All Saints in Pelican, Louisiana where she met the love of her life and husband—the late Robert Charles Brown. She graduated from Southern University A & M University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1970. After college, Olive and Robert began to grow their family.

When Olive had her first child, Fredericka, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Olive excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of our family, through and through. She was an excellent gift giver, always knew the right thing to say, never missed a special date. Olive also worked at the Louisiana State Revenue Department for many years before happily retiring and moving closer to "home" in Catuna, Louisiana.

Olive was preceded by her husband of over 40 years Robert Brown. She is survived by her four children whom are left to cherish her memories: Dr. Fredericka Delores Brown, Byron Michael Brown, Derek Lamar Brown (Wife – Ebony Brown),and Dr. Jasmine Nicole Brown Baker (Husband -Quinton Baker). Also, Olive will be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, Madisyn, Lauren, Reid, Cameron and Nicholas.Lastly, she will be remembered by her sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Olive lived a full and eventful life. Her spirit lives in all of us!She carried the title of friend, sister, wife, and mom. She will be dearly missed.
