On November 13, 1939 Ray Ballinger was born to Essie D. Roberts and Gus Williams.

Ray accepted Christ at a very young age. He was a faithful member of the Greater Hopewell Baptist Church. He served as a deacon on the deacon board, sunday school superintendent, and church treasurer for 40 years. He was a Machinist at Trane company and retired after 36 years .

Ray was married to his beloved wife Mattie Mae Ballinger for 58 years. To this union was born two children, Renwick Ballinger and Michell Ballinger.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mattie M. Ballinger, two children, Ren wick Ballinger (Kimberly) and Michell Ballinger - Langley (Danny) ; four grandchildren, Colby Ballinger, Destiny Heard, Renwick Ballinger Jr., Johnythan Ballinger. Two great grandchildren, King J . Ballinger , Kairo D. Balling er and a host of nieces , nephews , relatives and friends.

Ray Ballinger was a caring father, grandfather and brother. Ray touched many lives with his humble spirit and generosity for others. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of East Texas and his care giver Mr. B .
