Roosevelt McKellar Jr. affectionately known as "Sonny" was born April 9, 1942 in Bullard,Texas as the 10th beloved child of the late Roosevelt, Sr. and Luella McKellar.
He was a proud graduate of Stanton High School and an even more proud member of the United States Army where he served 16 years.
After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Roosevelt made Bullard his home where he became a full-time farmer. Additionally he loved serving his community. He had a heart big as Texas and never met a stranger. He was a lifelong member of New Hope Bullard Baptist Church. Where he enjoyed attending every Sunday. As Roosevelt's health failed, he spent the last six years of his life at Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and eight siblings.
Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memories his loving and beloved caregiver, his baby sister Karemn Granberry, Queen Owens, Hattie Moore, Lessie McKellar, Bobbie Schulerd, Vonceil Jefferson, Rosie McKellar, Emmer Jones(Robert), Donald W. McKellar(Janice),and several nieces, nephews,cousins and a host of friends.
