Rosie Barnes was born June 8, 1944 to the late Freddie and Ella Mae Johnson. She was the sixth of ele ven children.

She married the late Lowell Ba rnes on August 18, 1960 until his death in 1983.  To this union were 4 children.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an ear ly and united with Englewood COGIC where she served as a faithful member until her health failed. She was a District and State Usher .

Rosie attended Emmett J Scott Schools.

She retired for Trane after 24 years.

She was preceded in death by parents, Fredd ie and Ella Mae Johnson , her husband, Lowell Barnes : four brothers, Bernard Johnson , Charlie Lee Johnson, Lonnie Charles Johnson and Fredd ie Ray Johnson : sister, Flora Lee Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children; LaWanda Gail Barnes, Curtis Barnes, Michelle Barnes and Stephanie (Bennie) Chimney; Seven grandchi ldren; Jeree Terry, Trumaine Gunter, Devin Roberts, Genia Terry, Tyra Barnes, Damian Banks and Juwan Banks ; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Roberts and Shai Rose Smith; two sisters, Jewel Richardson and Olivia Clark; three brothers, Floyd (Barbara) Johnson Sr. , Willie Johnson and Timothy Johnson ; several sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law , nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
