Venard Owens was born on October 14, 1933 in Bullard, TX to Guy "Sugar" Owens and Johnnie Albright Owens and was a lifelong resident of Tyler TX.  He gained his wings on April 27, 2021 at The Hospice of East Texas.  Venard attended school at Stanton High School.  He began his employment at Tyler Pipe and later retired from GE/Trane after 33 years of service.

Venard was a member of the Larissa CME Church but attended People's Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a sports fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.  Venard was married to Dottie Jones Owens for over 56 years and they had three children; Gary, Cynthia and Denise.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, son, wife and daughter.  Left to cherish his memories is his daughter Cynthia Owens; One granddaughter Kimberly Owens-Asbell (Terrel); One special son/nephew Tim Jones (Janet); One brother Leonard Owens; One sister Letha Owens Wallace and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers.
