Verta Ruth Eddington was born to the late Homer Eddington Jr.and Helen Ruth Simon Eddington on May 18, 1948 in Littlefield, Texas. Verta Eddington went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 17, 2022.She grew up in Groesbeck, Texas and received her education from Mexia Public Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the Apostle J. D. Hamilton Sr. (Poppa). She served on the Usher Board until her health failed. She was a member of the church choir and loved to sing and give God all the Praise and Glory. She loved the Lord with all her heart.She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for nine years. She was also a Cook Assistant at Tyler Junior College as well as the Nursing Home. She loved sharing God's work, going to church, and cooking. She loved her family and her church family. She always found ways to help people. She will be remembered best for her kind and tender heart.

Verta was preceded in death by parents, five sisters, Verna Matthews, Martha Eddington, Helen Echols, Pinkie Carroll, and Edna Salas. Three  brothers, Ben Eddington, Robert Eddington, and Edward Eddington. She leaves to cherish her memories, Sisters Johnnie Washington (Jerry) and Judy Cooper both of Mexia, TX. One Godson, Julio Shepherd of Rockdale, TX, Three Goddaughters, LaDwan Hayter and Hope Smith both of Chandler, TX, and Elwenna Key of McKinney, TX., God sister, Jan Thomas, Special niece, Angela Davis (Eunice), Eleven grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
