Virginia Sue Landers Edwards better known as "Jenkie" and "Granny". She was born  July 24, 1938. She was a graduate of the Emmett J. Scott class of 1956. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church as a child and later became an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. In 1965 she met the love of her life Robert Edwards, and on December 23, 1966 they married. To that union of 54 years they raised Tony Landers and Perrilyne Denise Edwards.

She was a wife,grandmother, and family babysitter. She also worked in the retail industry, she moved on to work for Tyler Independent School District and later retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Will and Minnie Landers, and her 19 siblings and daughter- Perrilyne Denise Edwards.

She leaves to mourn her passing: Husband; Robert Edwards, son;Tony Landers, granddaughter;Tonesha Landers, grandson; Tarion O.D. Landers, daughter-in-law;Olivette Landers, and a host of nieces,nephews, and long life friends.
