Voncile Ford
Stoglin
July 24, 1933 – January 29, 2021
Voncile Ford Stoglin was born to Tommie and Claudie Mae Browning Ford on July 24, 1933. She attended St. Louis Schools in Tyler, Texas and graduated high school from Emmitt J. Scott High School, Class of 1952. She also attended Texas College.
Although Voncile had no brothers or sisters she was proud of the fact that she was the oldest grandchild of both her maternal and paternal grandparents and felt that she could "boss" them all.
Voncile joined the St. Louis Baptist Church at an early age and was a member for more than sixty years. She is a former member of the St. Louis Baptist Church Choir and was a deaconess.
Voncile Ford married Mr. Willie James Stoglin in April of 1954. To this union three children were born. Her pride and joy. Mr. and Mrs. Stoglin celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary on April 3, 2020.
Mrs. Stoglin served as a community mother to several of the children in the St. Louis Community. Mrs. Stoglin was also one of the founding members of the St. Louis Communities Ladies Softball Team, the St. Louis Jets where she played catcher.
Mrs. Stoglin was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Tyrone Stoglin.
Those left to cherish Voncile's memories are her husband, Willie James Stoglin, son, Dwight (Dana) Stoglin, daughter, Brigitte (Lewis) Tolson, brother-in-law, George Harold Stoglin, special grandsons, Kelvin Tolson, and Arondo Washington Cox and a host of nieces,nephews, and cousins.
