January 18, 1945 – August 8, 2022
Willie Jean "Mosley" Franklin was born to the late Frances Marie Scott Mosley and Horace Mosley Jr., on January 18, 1945, in Tyler, Texas. Willie Jean was the eldest of ten children that included three boys and seven girls. Willie Jean started her education at Emmett Scott public school in Tyler.
After graduating high school, she continued her education at Paul Quinn College located in Waco, Texas. Willie Jean began her Christian journey very early in life at Smith Temple Church of God in Christ. As she grew spiritually, naturally and physically, she applied her piano and voice skills to play and sing at Smith Temple Church of God in Christ, Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Compton Church of God in Christ and New Holland Baptist Church. As the years progressed, she accepted her ministry calling as a missionary in the Tyler Northeast District and served as a great woman of God for over sixty years.
Upon completing her education at Paul Quinn College, she returned to Tyler and began a career with Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) as a telephone operator and advanced in her career to become a marketing representative. Working for such a large organization allowed her to relocate to Galveston and later Houston, Texas. In her career, she performed well, and on many occasions was named "Top Marketing representative within her department. After retirement, she chose a second career in the Real Estate Industry in which she really enjoyed providing home buying guidance to family and friends.
